Essay & Painting Competition
- The Deadline for submission of essays and paintings is 30 March 2016 at 23:59 GMT.
- The essay and painting competition is open to all young people between the ages of 18 and 35 in Africa.
- Please note that participants attending the conference from outside Ghana will be required to take care of their travel costs to and from Ghana.
ESSAY
Topic: Promoting Agriculture among the Youth in Africa
- All work must be submitted by individuals, group work is not allowed.
- Full name, age and full address including phone and e-mail must be clearly written at the front page of your essay.
- Your essay may not be longer than 4000 words (about 10 pages of standard text).
- Essays are accepted in the following formats: .doc or .pdf or hard copies.
- You are also required to provide a summary of not more than 250 words.
- The summary will be used by the jury to make a pre-selection. Submissions are to be made in English.
- Selection Criteria for essays will be graded for their structure and coherence, originality and creativity and the use of thoughtful and concrete proposals/ examples.
PAINTING
Topic: Solving Electricity Problems in West Africa
- Paintings can be done on any paper size
- Full name, age and full address including phone and e-mail (in English) must be on the back of the painting.
- Style of painting is free: crayons, coloured pencils, watercolors, etc.
- Paintings that have been shown or accepted elsewhere will not be accepted in this competition.
- Paintings that show a particular person, an organization or a brand name will not be accepted.
- Do not include any words or descriptions in the paintings.

Selection criteria
Essays and Paintings will be graded for originality and creativity. The best three essays and paintings will be awarded with special prizes during the conference.
